Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving has issued warnings to the rookies that Camp Scott is looming.

Coach Byron Scott is notorious for his rugged training camp. If any players think they can show up to camp to get in shape, they are going to suffer … and put good use to the trash cans in the corner of the gym.

First-round pick Dion Waiters showed up at summer league in Las Vegas a little pudgy and out of shape. Irving, 20, told him to be ready to run in camp.

"All the warnings don't amount to much until you experience Camp Scott for yourself," he said Saturday morning at the second annual Kyrie Irving Basketball ProCamp at Avon Lake High School. "You have to deal with it. He's a hard-nosed coach, and he's trying to get the most out of you.
