It was certainly an interesting summer for Kyrie Irving. He was invited to play with the USA Select team and absolutely put on a show during scrimmages with the eventual gold medal winners. Despite the fact that he torched the NBA and won Rookie of the Year, this was really the first time that he burst onto the national scene. People know who Kyrie Irving is and he's finally getting the hype he deserves.

Unfortunately, Kyrie suffered a broken hand in a freak accident during practice just days later. The injury kept him out of the Cavaliers' Summer League games in Vegas. I guess it's nice that this injury happened during the offseason, as opposed to in the middle of the season. After a successful surgery and several weeks in a cast, Kyrie is finally ready to return to 5-on-5 basketball, according to Yahoo! Sports.
