"Today's questions about the Broncos come from Josh Shisler.
Q: So, what's the deal with (Kyle) Orton and balls getting batted by the opposing defensive line? It seems to me that the pump fake isn't utilized by him.
A: Josh, by my tally off the video, Orton had four passes knocked down by defensive linemen in Sunday's loss to the Titans.
Two of those were by Jason Jones, including the one that turned into the game-clinching interception by Titans linebacker Will Witherspoon? after the deflection. Defensive end Dave Ball and defensive tackle Karl Klug had the others.
Jones and Ball are 6-foot-5 and are two examples of why so many quarterback coaches and offensive coordinators like their quarterbacks to be 6-4 or taller as well.
Orton, who is 6-4, is like any other quarterback. His passes are at risk if the defensive linemen get too far up the field or if he tries to throw too many passes off his back foot."
