"With the nonwaiver trade deadline eight days away and the Dodgers very much playing the part of sellers rather than buyers, their moveable assets remain in flux.
Veteran infielder/outfielder Casey Blake can't stay healthy long enough to show he's capable of helping someone in a pennant stretch, and shortstop Rafael Furcal is mired in a season-long slump of poor play and injuries.
The one Dodger a handful of contenders truly covet, pitcher Hiroki Kuroda, has a no-trade clause and reportedly won't give the Dodgers a list of teams he'd agree to join. He instead prefers general manager Ned Colletti to approach him on a case-by-case basis.
Kuroda, though, said he's unaware of the Dodgers' request to submit a list of agreeable destinations.
"I myself haven't heard anything about a list," he said. "I think that's something that Ned has talked to my agent (about), and I haven't really heard anything about it.
"I have to really concentrate on the game that I pitch, so that's something I have to talk to my agent about."
According to Kuroda, he and Colletti recently talked about various scenarios, but he left the meeting thinking Colletti would come to him when talks heated up with one particular team or another."
