"The local sports owner who is named after two Cardinals Hall of Famers is taking a swing at buying one of baseball's venerable clubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and reportedly has moved beyond the initial bidding process.

Enos Stanley "Stan" Kroenke, the Rams' owner, made one of the bids for the Dodgers that survived Friday's cutdown and is among at least eight interested parties who advanced beyond the first round of bidding, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The other potential buyers include a group headlined by former Dodgers manager Joe Torre and another led by former Dodgers owner Peter O'Malley.

A league source confirmed to the Post-Dispatch on Monday that Kroenke had indeed made a formal bid to buy the Dodgers."
