"Even though Andruw Jones has reached base in 24 of 26 games, he was on the White Sox bench all weekend against the Marlins while lefty-swinging Mark Kotsay played.
Jones, who is second on the Sox with nine homers and tied for fourth with 19 RBIs, said he understood the circumstance because the Sox had won consecutive games Friday and Saturday without him.
"It's all about winning, not whether you're playing," Jones said. "I didn't play good for two games, and they had to make some changes."
Jones was 0-for-8 before the benching. Kotsay is 0-for-7 the last two games after getting eight hits in 15 at-bats in a five-game stretch. So manager Ozzie Guillen will have a decision to make Monday because the Sox face three right-handed starters in Cleveland."
