"Johnny Knox atoned for his mistake. The Bears receiver had an obvious drop Sunday on a short screen pass.
"I had a routine catch that I missed,'' Knox said. "That was all me.''
But Knox, who finished with four catches for a career-high 145 yards, also made a handful of plays look routine, including his 29-yard touchdown from Caleb Hanie.
"That was my actual route,'' Knox said, noting it wasn't a hot read. "Zero cover, all-out blitz and the middle of the field (was) open.''
Hanie and Knox connected on an 81-yard pass play on third-and-16 from the Bears 10 late in the fourth quarter. It set up Hanie's 9-yard touchdown pass to tight end Kellen Davis.
"I guess they thought we were going to run the ball,'' Knox said. "They were in quarters to help stop the run. … We just got over the top.''
Knox, who was targeted 10 times, could help make Hanie's transition a lot smoother if he continues to stretch the field."
