When it comes to New York Knicks forward Michael Beasley, the former second overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft from Kansas State University has been on quite the journey across the league and around the world.

Before his recent breakout with the Knicks, Beasley had played with five different NBA teams (including three different stints with the Miami Heat) as well as two clubs in the Chinese Basketball Association.

In a recent interview with Jeff Zillgitt of USA TODAY Sports, Beasley reflected on his mentality from his rookie year compared to the one he has now. Beasley eventually got around to talking about the careless spending he was doing back in the 2008-09 season.

“Nine,” Beasley said when asked of how many cars he bought during his rookie season. “All I knew was I’ve got a lot of money, and I want a lot of things. I had a fixation on cars. I’m not even going to lie to you.”
