"The Chris Duhon era is over.
Mike D'Antoni installed newly acquired Sergio Rodriguez as the Knicks' new starting point guard effective immediately. And there is no guarantee that Duhon, D'Antoni's hand-picked successor to Stephon Marbury, will see much action for the remainder of the season.
"There doesn't seem to be a pop there right now," D'Antoni said Monday of Duhon.
Rodriguez, acquired from Sacramento in the Tracy McGrady deal, had a decent game in his Knicks' debut on Saturday. He had six assists with two turnovers and missed six of eight shots.
But the change is more about Duhon's struggles than anything else. In 53 games, including 51 starts, Duhon is shooting 34% and is averaging 7.7 points and 6.2 .assists. When asked about Duhon's dramatic slide, D'Antoni could only say, "I don't know. It's a tough position and with all the flux of our team, the up and down, a lot of things get in your head.""
