Guard Kirk Hinrich participated in all of practice Monday after nursing a strained right groin for most of last week.

Hinrich seemed confident he would be able to play in the Bulls' regular-season opener Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings.

''As of right now, as long as I don't have any setbacks, I plan on playing,'' Hinrich said. ''I just felt that it was important for me to go out and get some reps and just try to test it as much as I could.''

Hinrich has been careful to rest the injury, which could nag him if he rushes back to action.

''I'm probably a little bit smarter after I've had some injuries that have kept me out for extended periods of time,'' Hinrich said.
