The Redskins may be 4-6, but starting quarterback Kirk Cousins says he’s playing the best football of his career.

Cousins has completed 66.7 percent of his passes for 2,796 yards and 17 touchdowns. He’s on pace to throw for more than 4,400 yards and 27 touchdowns, both of which would be his second-highest season totals to date, and has a career-high 101.8 passer rating. He’s rushed for 141 yards — his highest total yet — and an additional three touchdowns.

On paper, Cousins is having one of his best seasons as a professional, after losing two thousand-plus-yard receivers, in Pierre Garcon and DeSean Jackson. He was asked during his weekly 106.7 The Fan appearance if he feels this is the best he’s played.

“Yeah. That’s not even hard to think about. I mean, it’s not even close,” Cousins said. “I’m playing my best football I’ve played.”
