Second baseman Ian Kinsler arrived at the visitor's clubhouse Monday morning and discovered that he was not in the Rangers' lineup for only the second time this season.
The first time was April 11, the day Josh Hamilton was injured and Kinsler was forced into the game. He was able to sit all day in the finale against Oakland.
Kinsler said he feels fine physically and at the plate, even though he is hitting only .231. But he leads the Rangers in walks (16) and is third in runs scored, and said that the change to the leadoff spot has not altered his approach nor is a cause for his slow start.
Kinsler takes rare off day, hopes to break out of slump
