Kings know Walker can score, but can he pass?

"It's not by accident that Kemba Walker looks to set up his teammates as he participates in NBA predraft workouts.

Big-time scorers who are small in stature aren't the norm in the league. So while Walker's scoring was enough to propel Connecticut to an NCAA men's basketball championship last season, he knows if he can show passing comes just as easily, it will go a long way in determining his future in the NBA.

Many NBA pundits think the Kings will draft Walker, who was in Sacramento on Monday to work out for the team.

Also at the workout were USC forward/center Nikola Vucevic, Tulsa guard Justin Hurtt and forwards Matthew Bryan-Amaning of Washington, DeAngelo Casto of Washington State and Jordan Williams of Maryland.

Among Monday's group, Walker is the only player the Kings would consider with the No. 7 overall pick in the June 23 draft.

The Kings are interested in adding a young point guard, and Walker is one of the best available this year, though there are concerns about his game.

The way the 6-foot-1 Walker was able to score for Connecticut was impressive. He averaged a team-high 23.5 points as a junior last season.

Walker said he's not just a scorer.

"There's a lot of questions about me being a pure point guard," he said. "And I know if a team selects me and they need me to play that role, I can definitely play that role."

It's a role Walker most likely would have to play for the Kings.

The Kings' top three scoring options are Tyreke Evans, DeMarcus Cousins and restricted free agent Marcus Thornton, so Walker or any young point guard would not be expected to be a primary scorer.

Walker said he'd fit in fine with the Kings and Evans, his friend."
