It was seven years ago when Jason Kidd and Jacque Vaughn shared a backcourt for the Nets. When they met Tuesday night in Orlando it was with Kidd starting in the backcourt, but Vaughn in his new role as head coach of the Magic.

Kidd said it made him feel old. Vaughn, 37, is younger than four players on the Knicks' roster — and two other Knicks vets, Rasheed Wallace and Kurt Thomas, played with him too.

But could they meet in suits one day with both coaching teams? Vaughn thinks they could, but not yet because he believes Kidd can play for a while.

"His ability and understanding of the game of basketball – that's not leaving anytime soon," Vaughn said.

Carmelo Anthony was called for a technical in the second quarter and spent much of the night just shaking his head at the calls he felt he wasn't getting.

"It was obvious," he said. "You guys saw it. You don't need me to elaborate on that."

So how did he avoid blowing his top and getting a second technical? "I kind of know my boundaries," Anthony said. "Me and the referees are building our relationship."
