"Dallas Mavericks guard Jason Kidd finally capped what has already been a Hall of Fame career with an NBA championship.
He failed twice when he was with the New Jersey Nets, losing to the Lakers and Spurs in back-to-back Finals.
Fittingly, he finally got his ring with the team that drafted him 17 years ago -- the Dallas Mavericks.
"It has been an unbelievable journey," Kidd said. "I have been here twice. The third time was the charm. I always hoped to get another opportunity."
Kidd said his teammates keep him young, and he plans to play two or three more years."
