The Rockets fully embraced their small lineups, even switching to a lineup that put 6-5 guard James Harden on Oklahoma City power forward Serge Ibaka in the post season. This is not considered a long-term plan.

When discussing the ways he would like the Rockets to improve, Rockets coach Kevin McHale on Tuesday cited getting better play from his power forwards to allow him to return at least one to his rotation.

“I think we have to play bigger,” McHale said. “We played small, especially after we made the trade of Pat Patterson. A couple guys stepped up and played the four spot. We tried different people, tried different stuff. We’re going to have to play bigger than that. I think the young bigs we have, one of those guys will definitely emerge, maybe a couple of them so we can get better.
