The Golden State Warriors ultimately came up short against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday evening while superstar forward Kevin Durant notably returned to where it all began. Even so, the Warriors swingman still insists that these games are not only about him and Thunder point guard Russell Westbrook, who is now accompanied by a tandem of newcomers in Carmelo Anthony and Paul George.

“It’s not about me and Russ,” Durant told ESPN after the Warriors lost to the Thunder by the score of 108-91 on Wednesday evening in Oklahoma City. “It’s about the Thunder and the Warriors. Myself and Russ are competing out there. That’s part of the game. It’s basketball. It’s not about us. We’re just playing the game, and trash talking is part of it. That’s all it is.”

However, this game was most certainly about Durant and Westbrook as the former teammates were seen jawing at one another throughout the heated contest, which obviously created some headlines.
