Kevin Durant and his Golden State Warriors will take on the conference rival Oklahoma City Thunder for the first time this season on Thursday.

It’s not your normal regular season basketball game. Bitterness remains at a near all-time high after Durant left the Thunder for the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors prior to last season.

The scene in the city Durant called home for eight seasons will be one of outward hostility. The reigning NBA Finals MVP knows this full well. But he’s not going to let this distract him.

Durant played just one game as a member of the Warriors in Oklahoma City last season. He put up 34 points and nine rebounds in a 130-114 Golden State win.
