"Keith Bulluck never envisioned a parade or a salute on the LP Field video screens.

But if this was it — if the veteran linebacker has in fact played his last game as a Titan — he never thought it would end with him grimacing in pain, helped off the field because of a season-ending knee injury.

"It's unfortunate," Bulluck said Tuesday night. "My football season is over right now. I have to get surgery, and I am not under contract with any team. So I don't know what's going to happen next.

"But you know what? I still like my odds, and I always bet on myself. I'm a born winner. I have been in too many situations in my 32 years to lose. Things are going to work out for me. I'll be all right.''

Bulluck, one of the best and most popular players to wear a Titans uniform, found out Monday he tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during Sunday's game against the Dolphins.

His streak of 127 consecutive games played has come to an end. The Titans will face the Chargers on Friday night without him.

Bulluck knows his run of 10 years with the Titans might end, too. Even before his injury, there had been no talks toward a contract extension.

Yet with months of rehab staring him in the face, Bulluck said he's not concerned, even if it means a new contract — with the Titans or another team — might have to wait."
