"The Minnesota Timberwolves had routine trade talks recently with the Memphis Grizzlies, and were approached about being part of a multi-team deal to send Carmelo Anthony from the Denver Nuggets to the New Jersey Nets, but nothing came of any of it, Wolves president of basketball operations David Kahn said today.

Kahn said he is not actively pursuing any deals for his team, which is 9-29 and has the NBA's second-worst record behind Cleveland (8-29).

"Nothing ... absolutely nothing is imminent with our team right now," Kahn after today's practice at Target Center. "We're not looking to do anything on a trade basis at the moment. I'm focused on helping our coaches and players turn the corner this month."

CBS Sports.com reported that the Timberwolves were discussing a deal with the Grizzlies for guard O.J. Mayo, who was originally drafted by Minnesota in 2008 then traded that night for forward Kevin Love. Kahn said talks with Memphis were routine and "no names of players had come up on either side." "
