"Rangers OF Josh Hamilton will travel to Philadelphia Thursday to have the groin injury that hampered him throughout the postseason examined.

Hamilton had acknowledged the possibility of a sports hernia during the World Series. He will see the same doctor, Dr. William Myers, who performed surgery to repair his sports hernia in 2009. Hamilton missed a month with that injury, so if he has a procedure soon to address the problem, he should be ready to go by the start of spring training."
