"Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton plans on meeting with Dr. Williams Meyers of Philadelphia in about a week to determine the cause of persistent groin discomfort that limited him throughout the playoffs.

In June, 2009, Meyers performed surgery to repair a tear in Hamilton's right abdominal muscle. Hamilton said the pain related to this injury was different.

"If he needs to fix something, he'll fix it, and then I'll get after my recovery," Hamilton said. "This pain was constant, all the time. It tells me it is torn but not completely off. I want to get the tests done and see what he wants to do.""
