"A complex, multi-team deal could bring Toronto Raptor Jose Calderon to Charlotte, addressing the Bobcats' hole at point guard.
Boris Diaw and possibly Tyson Chandler would leave the Bobcats for the Toronto Raptors. The Bobcats could end up with Toronto's Reggie Evans and/or Phoenix's Dwayne Jones, according to a source from one of the involved teams.
With this trade still up in the air, Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins did not return a phone call seeking comment Monday. But center Chandler, entering the final season of his contract, told Yahoo Sports he already considers himself a Raptor.
One source said a potential sticking point involves financial expectations by the Raptors.
This deal would acquire a starting point guard to replace Raymond Felton, who left the Bobcats for the New York Knicks. Calderon, a five-season NBA player from Spain, is probably a better ballhandler and shooter than Felton.
Calderon averaged 10.3 points and 5.9 assists last season and shot nearly 40 percent from 3-point range. He had one of the league's best assist-to-turnover ratios (4.08-to-1, third in the league). But he also has an expensive contract - nearly $30million over the next three seasons."
