Astros All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve downplayed the severity of the neck discomfort that forced him to exit in the sixth inning Friday night against the Rangers at Minute Maid Park.

Altuve, who leads the majors in hits, didn’t return after fouling out to the third base side in the fifth inning. Gregorio Petit replaced him at second base to start the sixth and eventually hit an RBI double in the eighth inning to cap the come-from-behind 4-3 victory.
“I’m going to be ready to play tomorrow or the next day at least,” Altuve said. “It’s not something big.”

Altuve leads the majors with 158 hits and 48-multi-hit games, leading the majors in both categories. He also leads the American League in stolen bases with 45.
