Jonny Flynn still sore seven months after hip surgery

"Timberwolves point guard Jonny Flynn insists he has not had a setback in his recovery from hip surgery, but complications from the July 27 procedure have led to an extended rest period that will go beyond this weekend's NBA all-star break.

Flynn was advised to sit out Wednesday night's game against the Los Angeles Clippers and most likely will miss the Wolves' first two games after Sunday's All-Star Game. The Wolves play at Milwaukee next Tuesday night and face Memphis at home Wednesday night.

Flynn, who had surgery on July 27 to repair a torn labrum in his left hip, has complained of stiffness and soreness in his groin.

"We're trying to figure this out to get things moving a little quicker," Flynn said. "I just want to speed up the process with some rest. We'll see how this works out."

Flynn said a mutual agreement was reached with Wolves coach Kurt Rambis and the team's medical staff to limit his activity over the next week. A decision was to be made after the game to determine Flynn's rehab plans during the all-star break.

Rambis said Flynn, who started the Wolves' previous eight games, has not "looked comfortable" lately. Flynn was scoreless in 12 minutes in Monday night's loss to Portland. In the Wolves' past five games, Flynn averaged 11.0 points but had 21 turnovers. "
