"Chipper Jones is continuing to progress in his recovery from arthroscopic knee surgery. A week into it on Saturday, he hit off a tee for the second straight day – this time taking 20 swings right-handed as well – and planned to start taking soft toss on Sunday.
Jones wants to stay behind when the Braves travel to Colorado Monday and work out and take some batting practice with the Triple-A Gwinnett Braves. He hopes to get in a game or two before the week is out either in Gwinnett or Rome, first as a DH and then in the field. If he passes both those tests he thinks he'll be ready to come off the disabled list when he's eligible Sunday, July 24 in Cincinnati or Monday July 25 against the Pirates."
