"Move over Toby, Mark, Ron and Derek... you may soon have company in the Winnipeg Jets' infirmary.
The Jets served up a gritty effort in a 3-0 victory over the New York Islanders in front of 10,157 at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum Thursday night, but the win may have cost the club another defenceman.
Veteran Randy Jones left the game in the third period after taking a shot off the inside of his right ankle. He hobbled to the bench and at the first break needed help to hobble off the ice to the Jets' dressing room. As well, centre Nik Antropov took a shot off his hand and though he returned in the third period, his status for Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils is also iffy."
