Swansea City are in talks to re-sign Dutch midfielder Jonathan de Guzman on a second season-long loan from Spanish club Villarreal.

Swans chairman Huw Jenkins told the South Wales Evening Post: "I have met with Jonathan's agent and he is comfortable with where we are at.
"Hopefully we can tie something up with Villarreal soon. We are optimistic about that happening."

Villarreal returned to Spain's top flight at the end of last season.
De Guzman, 25, played under Swansea boss Michael Laudrup at Real Mallorca in 2010-11 and amid an impressive first season in the Premier League made his Holland debut.

He scored eight goals for the Swans in 45 appearances, two of them in the 5-0 Capital One Cup final win over Bradford at Wembley in February.
