"Acknowledging a pair of "productive" meetings with DH-INF Michael Young over the last two days, general manager Jon Daniels said Thursday evening that he had regrets over some of the portrayals that had developed around one of the franchise's most venerable players this winter.

The pair met for had an animated meeting of about 30 minutes on Wednesday and then reconvened Thursday afternoon.

Afterward, Daniels took the unusual step of revealing the meetings to the media and discussing his regrets over the situation. The winter included several rounds of trade talks and included Young eventually saying he wanted to be traded.

"There were a lot of little things that were just that — little things — that built up," Daniels said. "But looked at through one lens or another, they could have been perceived different ways. I think Michael ended up taking some criticism and some shots that were not fair."
