Maybe Taylor Hall will just attack his latest injury with his usual approach and make another freakishly fast recovery, all of which will get him back into the Edmonton Oilers long before four weeks have passed.

It just won’t be soon enough to help the club as it heads into a pivotal stretch of five road games starting Tuesday in Philadelphia against the 4-5-2 Flyers.

“We can’t lose sight of the standings. Over the next five games, we have to be over .500 — at minimum. If do that, we’ll be at .500 for the season and we need that for sure,” Oilers forward David Perron said after a practice session at the University of Pennsylvania.

“Those are two of our biggest leaders, but for the guys who have wanted more ice, more everything, it’s an opportunity to get it done. It’s an opportunity to show you can step up and get the job done.”
