A tremendous cheer arose when Joey Votto was introduced to the sellout crowd of 9,198 (the Dragons' largest crowd of the year) Tuesday night, Votto's first appearance in a baseball game since July 15.

The Reds' franchise player ran out to his familiar spot at first base, except Votto wore the green-and-black colors of the Single-A Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field. It was the first of two rehab games in Dayton for Votto, who is recovering from two recent surgeries on his left knee.
