Joey Votto is making good progress after having arthroscopic surgery on his left knee last Tuesday. Votto shed his crutches Saturday, and he arrived early Sunday morning for more therapy in the GABP training room.

"I haven't seen a guy walk around like he's walking less than a week after his operation," Reds manager Dusty Baker said. "I was shocked that he put his crutches down, but that's what they do now with modern medicine."

Votto was projected to miss 3-4 weeks. Will he return sooner rather than later?

"Probably, but I'm not going to rush him and expect him back sooner," Baker said.
