"Atlanta Hawks guard Joe Johnson will miss four-to-six weeks thanks to upcoming arthroscopic surgery on his right elbow.
Johnson, who woke up Tuesday with discomfort in his elbow, went to see Dr. James Andrews for a second opinion Wednesday, when it was determined that the four-time All-Star guard needed surgery. Andrews will operate within the next few days.
In his 10th NBA season, Johnson has averaged a team-high 17.1 points to go with 5.2 assists and 4.1 rebounds in 18 games, averages which are right around his career marks over 717 career games with the Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics and Hawks."
