"The Reds reportedly are one of the teams right-hander Roy Oswalt is considering, but the sides have had no contact in nearly a week and the Reds would have to juggle the budget to make a deal possible.

"We had discussions with them a while ago," Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said. "The last we heard he was going to Texas. That was on Monday. I don't know if that deal is still in place."

Fox Sports reported that Texas may not have the money to sign Oswalt. The same is true of the St. Louis Cardinals, Oswalt's other reported team of choice.
