Joba Chamberlain absorbed his first spanking of the exhibition season in a 10-8 loss to the Nationals at George M. Steinbrenner Field. In his third outing of the spring, Chamberlain allowed two runs, two hits and two walks.
"He threw OK but made a couple of mistakes with his fastball," Joe Girardi said. "When we made mistakes with the fastball they hammered us."
The Yankees, who are 2-5 in the Grapefruit League, fell behind 7-0 after 3½ innings before scoring eight runs in the home fourth."
