"When Derek Jeter asked Joba Chamberlain what was wrong with his right eye yesterday morning in the clubhouse, Chamberlain answered, "pink eye."

"Go home," said Jeter, aware that the infection is highly contagious.

"Woke up this morning with it," said Chamberlain, who was ahead of himself in making the diagnosis.

After warming up during the Yankees' 9-3 Subway Series victory over the Mets at Yankee Stadium, Chamberlain was relieved to find out he did not have pink eye."
