Joba Chamberlain (right oblique) needs another rehab assignment after throwing a scoreless inning Tuesday for Class AAA Scranton.

"I’m just going to continue to make sure everything is strong around [it], so this doesn’t linger for a while," Chamberlain said. "It’s one of those things where you have to make sure it’s done and taken care of."

Joe Girardi said he had "hope" that Chamberlain — who will play catch today — would be ready after one more appearance.

Betances up

Even Dellin Betances was surprised when he got the call.

The former top prospect was converted to a reliever this month and made only two appearances in his new role.
