After the season ended Joakim Noah said he had earned his Defensive Player of the Year award (and some down-the-ballot MVP votes for his play on both ends) playing through a sore left knee. He wasn’t kidding.

Friday Noah underwent “minor arthroscopic surgery to clean out his left knee,” the Bulls announced.

He will be out 8-12 weeks, the team announced. During the off-season, that is not a huge deal. He should be fully ready to go by the start of training camp.
