Jets beat writer J.P. Pelzman takes a look at some of the positives and negatives of dealing away superstar cornerback Darrelle Revis:

1. If the Jets cannot agree on a long-term contract with him, they risk losing him after this season anyway.

2. They are in a rebuilding mode, so they could get some players for the future.

3. They have a shutdown corner in Antonio Cromartie, and it’s unknown whether Revis will be the same player after suffering a torn ACL.

1. They would be letting go one of the consensus best corners in football.

2. With Revis coming off a devastating injury, they likely won’t get fair value until he proves he’s 100 percent healthy.

3. With numerous starters already gone from the defense, it would help greatly to have two excellent cornerbacks anchoring a potentially young secondary.
