When Santonio Holmes says he’s day to day, he’s not kidding.

The Jets wide receiver, who missed a majority of last season with a foot injury, does not have a timetable for his return.

"I don’t have a target date," Holmes said yesterday at a uStadium Flag Football charity event on Roosevelt Island. "I’m just stating the facts that the season starts soon and I don’t want to do anything to jeopardize myself being ready for the season."

Holmes, who will be careful not to cause any further damage, intimated he’s done some light football activity, but nothing substantial. He still runs on a gravity-assisted treadmill and has not done full weight-bearing activity. He described his on-field activity as "a little."

"It’s only at an extent where trainers want to see the movement, going through the motions," he said.

Holmes would not speculate whether he would start training camp on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list.
