"The Jets made minor changes to quarterback Mark Sanchez's contract last Friday, according to two people with knowledge of the adjustments. These people requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak for Sanchez or the team.
The changes are mainly for housekeeping, one of the people said, and no money is changing hands. The resulting changes to the Jets' salary cap are not consequential, the person added.
The Jets moved $525,000 of Sanchez's 2011 base salary, originally $14.75 million, to 2013. Among the other changes were to write into his contract the qualifiers he hit as a rookie. He reached certain triggers in areas like playing time, and since these are no longer hypothetical, they can officially be written in."
