Derek Jeter is not in Wednesday’s lineup against the Red Sox, a day after being scratched with stiffness in his surgically repaired left ankle.

After being pulled Tuesday in Clearwater, Jeter underwent tests, including an MRI exam that showed mild inflammation of the ankle and the Yankees listed him as day-to-day.

While Jeter downplayed the injury, manager Joe Girardi admitted to having concern over his shortstop, whose status is uncertain for Opening Day.
