Jennings has MRI on left foot, out for Portland game

"Bucks point guard Brandon Jennings will not play at Portland on Monday night, the first game he will miss in his NBA career after 107 consecutive regular-season starts.

Jennings underwent a magnetic resonance imaging exam on his injured left foot Sunday before returning to the Bucks' training facility. The team was awaiting the results but Jennings was not scheduled to travel when the Bucks left for Portland to begin a three-game West Coast swing.

"We're just waiting on the results to see what they say," Jennings said. "I haven't really missed a game in my whole career at all.

"Being the first time where somebody is saying, 'You can't play or we don't want you to play,' that's really tough for me. I've always played through whatever and just fight it out."

Jennings was injured late in the first half against San Antonio on Wednesday night but was able to return in the second half. He played 30 minutes against Utah on Saturday but only took seven shots and scored six points.

"I drove to the basket against San Antonio and I came down awkwardly on my leg," Jennings said. "I came down straight on my knee. I think so much of the pressure on it went down to my ankle.

"Last night was very painful. In San Antonio I was just playing off energy and just going out there. Last night I really didn't have that burst off the pick-and-rolls; I didn't have a lot of lateral movement. I was just trying to fight it out and do the best I could for the team."

The Bucks will face a Portland team missing some key players, including guard Brandon Roy. A patchwork lineup helped the Trail Blazers edge Golden State, 96-95, on Saturday night at the Rose Garden."
