"Just for the fun of it, let's pencil in the Bucks' game in Los Angeles against the Clippers on Jan. 31 as a target date for the return of guard Brandon Jennings who has been sidelined since having surgery on his left foot on Dec. 20.
That doesn't mean the game against the Clippers has to be set in stone or that he couldn't return sooner. But when Jennings, who is from Los Angeles, was asked after Tuesday's practice when he thought he might be back in action, he sounded like he definitely wanted to play against the Clippers.
"I wish (I could play) tomorrow," said Jennings. "Hopefully, when I go back to L.A. so I can play at home against the Clippers. I want to play at home at least one time. Or maybe get one or two games in before we hit L.A."
Jennings missed the game against the Lakers at the Staples Center on Dec. 21 because of the injury. The original estimate was that he would miss from four to six weeks because of the injury.
Speaking of Los Angeles, Jennings was named to compete in the dunk contest on Feb. 19 during all-star weekend at the Staples Center and Jennings was asked if he thought it was at all risky to compete in that contest if he was just coming back from a foot injury.
"It's not something that I'm thinking about," he said. "It's not my No. 1 priority. My No. 1 priority is trying to get back on the court. It is an honor just to be named for the dunk contest and everything but right now I'm just worried about getting back on the court."
But he would make sure that he was back 100% before he would take part in the dunk contest?"
