Jason Witten and Mike Jenkins both expected to play Sunday vs. Texans

"The Cowboys expect to have tight end Jason Witten and cornerback Mike Jenkins for Sunday's game at Houston.

Both were injured in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to Chicago. Jenkins was taken off the field on a cart as a precaution because of a bruised right knee. Witten suffered a concussion when hit by two Bears after a reception.

It's doubtful either player will be cleared to practice Wednesday, but coach Wade Phillips expects they will practice this week. That paves the way for them to play against the Texans.

"It looks like they will play," Phillips said Monday.

An MRI revealed Jenkins had no ligament damage, and the cornerback said he felt fine. Witten said there are no lingering effects from the hit.

"I didn't feel like it was a concussion," Witten said. "I felt woozy there for a little bit, but everything is fine.

"I feel great. I don't see any reason why I wouldn't be playing this week."

Witten engaged in a heated sidelines discussion with Dr. Robert Fowler of the club's medical staff but was not allowed to return. "
