"The Phoenix Suns are nearly unbeatable when Jason Richardson scores at least 20 points in a game.
The Suns' guard had 21 points at halftime Thursday night as he continued his torrid shooting against the Blazers in this first-round playoff series. Richardson finished Game 3 with a playoff career-high 42 points to lead the Suns to yet another blowout in their 108-89 win against Portland at the Rose Garden.
Phoenix is 28-4 when Richardson scores at least 20 points in a game. The Suns' dominated the Blazers for the second consecutive game and they regained home-court advantage while taking a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Richardson made 13 of 19 shots from the floor, including making eight of 12 three-point shots. He wasn't limited to just the three-point shooting, he also took advantage of getting out on the fast break and slashing to the basket for scores.
"That was my best game as a pro," Richardson said. "Nine years in the league, and I've only been to the playoffs twice. It's been seven summers at home. Right now, I don't take anything for granted.""
