Jason Kidd hopes to have 'another two or three' seasons ahead of him

"After 17 seasons in the NBA and three trips to the Finals, Jason Kidd finally added a championship ring to his resume.

The future Hall of Famer is 38-years-old and has nothing left to prove. So, how much longer will he play?

Following the conclusion of Sunday night's 105-95 series-clinching victory in Miami, Kidd was asked how many years he has left in him.

"With this group, hopefully another two or three," Kidd told the television cameras. "I feel great, and being around younger guys and working on my game, and them believing in me, helped me compete every day."

Kidd, who signed a three-year deal with the Mavericks before the 2009-10 season, said in March that he had a contract to fulfill. However, he also admitted that something could change his mind -- an NBA lockout.

The chance of not having a 2011-2012 season would mean Kidd could hang up his jersey and shorts for good."
