"Ninety-two points and 1,053 yards in total offense the last two games is not good enough for quarterback Jason Campbell to keep his starting job. At least that's what Raiders head coach Tom Cable said after Sunday's 33-3 win.
Bruce Gradkowski, out for a third straight week with a shoulder injury, will not lose his No. 1 status.
"No," Cable said. "We're not going to get into that. Bruce is the starter. When we get him healthy and he's able to move forward, that's what we'll do."
Gradkowski warmed up before the game and looked pretty good, throwing 20-yard passes. Campbell got hot during the game, finishing 15-for-27 for 310 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. Cable still thought his team should have had led by more than 10 points at halftime.
"At times, I feel really excited about what (Campbell's) been able to accomplish," Cable said. "At the same time, some of those issues in the first half are directly related to him kind getting things right and making good decisions, staying on rhythm, if you will."
Asomugha injury: The 35,721 fans on hand couldn't go home with all treats, as there was one bad moment for the Raiders. Pro Bowl cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha, who had missed plays earlier with a hand injury, left the game in the fourth quarter with a sprained right ankle. He was helped off the field, and though X-rays were negative, Cable said he didn't know how serious the injury was.
Season early? When he came from New England last year, defensive tackle Richard Seymour said the Raiders were a playoff team."
