"Some more good news in Wednesday's 6-5 victory over the Cardinals - at least for the most cynical and jaded Mets fans - was that $66 million disappointment Jason Bay left the game with a tight right hamstring and sore hip.
Bay was replaced in left field in the top of the fourth inning by Willie Harris because of an injury he said was sustained over the weekend against the Phillies when he tripped over first baseman Ryan Howard's foot.
Bay grounded out to shortstop in his only at-bat and has four hits in his last 37 at-bats (.108) dating to July 6. That includes a 0-for-17 streak snapped with a single Saturday against the Phillies."
