"Orlando Magic point guard Jameer Nelson continues to make progress in his return from a concussion, but coach Stan Van Gundy expects Nelson to be limited after he is cleared to play by the head of the NBA's concussion program.
Van Gundy said Nelson "got winded very, very easily" during a workout on Amway Center's practice court on Friday.
"The thing with a concussion is you can't do anything, so it's not like you're doing something to stay in shape," Van Gundy said before the Magic faced the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night. "Plus, on top of that, a concussion itself is a thing that leads to fatigue."
Nelson could return for Monday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, but Van Gundy predicted that Nelson wouldn't be able to handle many minutes of playing time."
